WE RECOGNIZE THAT VERY LITTLE IS IMPORTANT TO US RIGHT NOW EXCEPT FOR MAKING RAD THINGS AND SO WE WILL MAKE RAD THINGS.
WE WILL SURROUND OURSELVES WITH OTHER HUMAN BEINGS WHO DESIRE TO SPEND THEIR TIME MAKING RAD THINGS.
WE WILL SUPPORT EFFORTS TO CREATE ENVIRONMENTS WHICH NURTURE THE RAD AND THE PEOPLE WHO ARE ITS FOUNDATION.
WE RECOGNIZE THAT THIS RENEWED FOCUS ON MAKING AND SUPPORTING RAD THINGS MAY CONFLICT WITH PATTERNING WHICH HAS BEEN DEEPLY IMPRINTED ON OUR SELVES DUE TO OUR INHERENT LAMENESSES. THIS FACT SHALL NOT CONFLICT WITH PREVIOUSLY STATED RESOLUTIONS.
WE WILL ALLOW BEHAVIORS WHICH DO NOT CONTRIBUTE TO RADNESS TO NATURALLY DESELECT THEMSELVES AND WE WILL ALLOW OURSELVES TO BE THE BETTER FOR IT.
FOLLOWING THIS STATEMENT OF RESOLUTION, WE WILL TRY NOT TO SAY "RAD" ANYMORE, BUT WE WILL BE THINKING IT.
In the past few years, scientists have found ways to make light go both faster and slower than its usual speed limit, but now researchers at the University of Rochester have published a paper today in Science on how they've gone one step further: pushing light into reverse. As if to defy common sense, the backward-moving pulse of light travels faster than light.
Had a nice Christmas with the family, highlights of which include the lamb dinner, my dad's 12 yr Scotch, the musical collaborations. With my dad and brother Ewan on harmonica and me on guitar we played every song we all knew, even with a few stabs at family harmonizing, which experiment should only be attempted by the very skilled or the very drunk (I'm afraid we were more the latter).
I'm hungry and full of love and deliciousness. I'll post something more jaded later, in a good mood now.
Having nothing particularly amusing about myself to report, some funny facts about my friend Jason:
He went to Helen Keller Elementary School in Kirkland, Washington. Their mascot was the Cobra. They were the Helen Keller Cobras.
Actually, that's all I've got right now. I'm laughing too hard to type. *imitates blind/deaf snake*
I've been kind of quiet here lately.
Nothing is wrong. I just can't say anything. I'm not allowed. I'll try to write some song lyrics and post them. Safe. Effective. How about that local sports team?
The fall of summer. I am so alive right now, in this shifting, as hard work gets rewarded, harvests are reaped, losses are cut. The leaves on the trees around me are in their twilight years and, performing better than ever, they suck the sun out of the sky as winter circles on its approach. My best season is nigh. I've found the neatest girl. I have ideas as the cold approaches. I love you all so much.
