A couple of months ago I wandered into my local comic store and, after my typical bemused scan/browse of the bewilderingly diverse selection of obscure-to-me graphic novel titles, I asked the clerk to suggest to me some of his favorites. I told him I wanted something dark, edgy, sexy and classic; basically the things that I thought all good graphic novels should be. I felt, and still feel, that I know way too little about the world of comics and graphic novels. Graphic novels are really a pretty cool way to read something and, if it weren't for my totally justified distain for comics geeks, I'd probably be way more into them.

Anyway, the book he suggested, "V is for Vendetta," is apparently something of a classic in the genre and so I bought it and read it and, you know what? It's pretty darn good: dystopian, dark, sexy and thought provoking. And now they're making it into a movie. With Natalie Portman, nude naked sexy porn just kidding!

I love this guy's video for his niece. And I love his second one too.

The problem with Metafilter is that great links are often hidden in cryptic posts. But I'm cryptic too. Whatcha gonna do? Sometimes I think the best thing the first world could do for the third world would be to employ an army of metataggers for all of our funny funny content.

I don't know why this doesn't make me all warm and fuzzy, I may have a philosophical objection I can't identify at this juncture.
